Application Analyst
As an Application Analyst you will provide the conceptual skills to create and validate effective solution designs in the context of the application ecosystem.You’ll support Product Owners in providing requirement specifications and you translate them into logical/functional solution designs, working closely with our System Analysts and External Service Partners.The Application Analyst plays a key role ensuring that functional and technical objectives are understood, business requirements are translated into effective solution designs and ITS implications are identified and quantified. They own the data structures and all logical and functional aspects of the systems.

Main responsibilities
  • Understand the function and processes of the organisation in order to support the delivery of the Work Programme.
  • Capture Business Requirements together with Product Owner and translate them into a functional design.
  • Check technical solutions if they effectively realize the business requirements and solve the underlying problem of the business
  • Requirements and Design logicAsset Ownership of applications incl. functional components, services and APIs,
  • Own the logical structure of how business reality is represented in the data by the application.
  • Be the key expert in functional configuration of the application and help establishing quick and effective solutions by exploiting the flexibility of our systems, e.g. in terms of Business Processes, Business Rules, flexible, vertical data structures etc.
  • Understand and master the application in terms of Conceptual and Logical Data Models, APIs/Services/Components, UI and business functions, Business Rules and Rules representation (BPM, BPEL, OBR, OPA …)
  • Accelerate solution design by being the catalyst in cooperation with Business Analysts/Product Owners and System Analysts/Solution Architects.
  • Act as a quality gate of the Impact analysis to ensure the translation of business requirements is fully understood and the solution identified meets the needs of the business
  • Provide 2nd line technical support to Business and ITS on application queries
  • Ensure that systems are consistent with each other and with existing/proposed architecture.

Eligibility Requirements
  • Several years experience as Business Analyst, IT-Analyst or IT-Architect.
  • Strong communication and visualization skills.
  • Good understanding of the application development lifecycle (esp. Scrum) and the tools engaged at the organization, e.g. for DevOps.
  • In depth experience with applying relevant analysis methods & methodologies like UML, Class- or ER-diagrams, UX/UI mock-ups, XML, BPEL, BPMN etc.
  • Experience with the Oracle Database, PL/SQL, OPA, Oracle Forms, Java, JavaScript and the Oracle FM stack, e.g. BPMN, BPEL, OPA, OBR etc. is a plus.
  • Sound experience of application and modelling development tools such as Sparx, Toad, Confluence, Jira, BPM etc.
  • Good knowledge of the organisation, business model, products and key processes
  • Architecture certifications like BABOK/IIBA, iSAQB CPSA, CCXP or TOGAF are a plus.
  • Right to work in the EU and the UK.
  • The successful applicant will be required to travel (mainly between the Unit’s locations) for short periods of time, as and when the need arises.
  • Fluency to a high degree in English is required, but additional language skills (in particular Spanish) will also be valuable.
