Our client is a Singapore company that has grown to be one of the leading international lodging owner-operators. Their portfolio spans more than 200 cities across over 30 countries in Asia Pacific, Central Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the USA.

Your new role
In your new role you will be working closely with the International finance team, preparation and filing of periodical financial statements, management reports, budgeting, forecasts, audit schedules, financial statements and annual statutory reporting along with cash management, fixed asset management and preparing tax computation. In this role you will report directly to the Finance Director Europe. You will be working mostly cross-company with the different international team members. You will deal mostly with the UK & Germany Investment Directors and global company colleagues, including senior management & VIPs.

Your tasks
Financial Reporting and Accounting
  • Preparation of the company related day-to-day accounting in accordance with local GAAP and IFRS
  • Upload to the accounting system of the Property related accounting prepared by the Property Manager
  • Review of the Property related accounting
  • Preparation of the monthly reporting package to be delivered by the 5th business day to CCT Singapore Finance
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliation and debtor aging, and assist with intercompany reconciliations
  • Preparation of year-end audit schedules
  • Prepare annual financial forecasts and budget working with the property manager and other internal departments
  • Deliver ad hoc financial reports and assistances required by the group Finance and CCT Singapore Finance
  • Propose and implement new reporting process/templates to ensure accuracy and speed of reporting

Tax Reporting
  • Supporting and cooperation with the tax advisor to prepare trade tax, CIT, VAT returns and year-end reporting pack for CCT Singapore Finance
  • Monitor the development of relevant tax laws and prepare appropriate responses to tax changes
  • Liaising with tax authority in case of special tax audit
  • Other statutory filings such as Statistics Institute and Central Bank filings
  • Propose initiatives for tax optimization

Internal Control and Risk Management
  • Design and implement policies and procedures relating to accounting, procurement, leasing, etc.
  • Liaise with Risk Management teams of the group to ensure alignment of the German financial regulations with the group policies
  • Liaise with external auditors for statutory audits / internal auditors for internal audits and reporting to group Finance and CCT Singapore Finance

Corporate Finance and Treasury
  • Provide inputs and assistance to (re)financing discussions
  • Review and authorize procurements and on-line payments
  • Manage bank mandates and access controls of online banking

Transaction Advisory
  • Support the business development and asset management teams in financial due diligence of sales and acquisitions of properties

What you need to succeed
Qualification & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accountancy or equivalent professional qualification
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in accounting
  • Experience in handling full set of accounts in real estate preferred
  • Knowledge of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) and Germany GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
  • Knowledge of SAP/Yardi/Cognos systems are preferred
