Your new role
As a Global Project Manager you will be the primary contact for the Clients of mdgroup once the contract for the project is signed. You will ensure the project is managed and delivered in line with Client expectations and requirements until project close out, your goal is to ensure successful completion of the project. The Global Project Manager liaises with all appropriate internal areas (Project Coordinators, Travel Team, Finance, 3rd party vendors, study team, technology team etc.) within mdgroup to give clear direction in terms of what is required by the Client and the timelines for delivery. You coordinate all relevant meetings and team debriefs.
You are fully accountable for ensuring the project is in line with all regulatory and compliance guidelines such as Good Clinical Practice. You will also act as the expert for the project, by delivering positive recommendations and advice through the utilisation of your professional experience and knowledge.
In your role, you will also liaise with medical staff and hospitals to identify patient needs, and provide solutions to match patient needs. You are always looking to improve processes to maintain quality and compliance.
You communicate with many different external contacts, from Doctors, Health Care Professionals (HCPs), patients, and caregivers to Home Nursing providers and you are also building relationships with patient advocacy groups and will attend patient related events.
As a Global Project Manager you create all site training slides and deliver training to study teams, including Investigator Meetings. You are able to present a wide range of solutions to match the client’s requirements, while safeguarding the highest calibre of services for both the client and the patients participating in the clinical trials.
On top of this, you have full responsibility for every aspect of the budget management process from the initial handover from BD to the final invoice payment. If needed, you negotiate to ensure that budgets are met, and cost efficiencies are achieved to add value for the client.
Finally, you are also responsible for the Project Coordinators and their work and you conduct monthly 1-on-1 meetings with them.
To be successful as a Global Project Manager, you need to have a good understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and clinical trials. If you already have experience in Project management, this is considered a plus, but if you are a CRA, Study Coordinator or maybe even a nurse looking to take a step into project management, you are also welcome to apply.
It’s very important that your English is at a high level, if you speak any additional languages, this would be beneficial. Dutch is not mandatory for this position.
As a person, you are very accurate and you have excellent organizational skills. You combine these with the ability to communicate with individuals at all levels. On top of that, you have good influencing skills, good personal presentation and good professional customer service skills. You are a multi-tasker and enjoy delivering on tight deadlines. You enjoy new challenges and are able to solve problems effectively. Because you will be responsible for the Project Coordinators, you also need to provide clear direction and support to them.

Because mdgroup is currently still setting up the Amsterdam office, you will get a Hays contract for the first year you will be in this position (secondment).
