In this position as a Principal Researcher Immuno-oncology, you will be responsible for a broad set of in vitro experiments to enhance the value your employer’s antibody therapeutics. You do this by further characterizing their mechanism of action, providing preclinical rationale for combination approaches to be evaluated in the clinic, and by identifying candidate biomarkers. In this role, you have the unique opportunity to contribute to the company’s goal of transforming cancer treatment by performing preclinical translational research that informs the clinical development strategy of our antibody therapeutics. You will be part of the Translational Research & Precision Medicine Department. This team focuses on preclinical and clinical translational research to advance the clinical development of innovative and differentiated antibody therapeutics for the treatment of cancer. Your team consists of Translational Scientists & Technicians and the Translational Medicine lead and you will work together with them in project teams to ensure timely delivery of preclinical study results with limited supervision.
Your responsibilities include:
- Independently leading the design, planning and timely execution of experiments in assigned preclinical research studies, using techniques in the fields of immuno-oncology, cell biology, and molecular biology;
- Taking initiative to shape the preclinical research strategy by proposing and designing follow-up experiments based on emerging data and relevant literature;
- Documenting, processing, and analyzing experimental results in a timely manner; drawing valid conclusions, contextualizing findings based on how they inform the preclinical & wider translational strategy, and presenting these insights to the wider project team;
- Leading assay development, optimization and implementation efforts;
- Setting high quality standards and take initiatives to improve the teams and your own work.
To be successful as a Principal Researcher Immuno-oncology, you have completed a HLO/BSc/MSc education or equivalent in a relevant life science subject combined with at least 6 years of experience working in the lab, either in industry or academia. You have deep knowledge of and hands-on experience in immuno-oncology and its techniques, particularly with multi color flow cytometry, cell culture/functional cellular assays, and immunoassays. Dutch is not mandatory for this position, fluent English is a must.
As a person, you are precise and efficient in the execution of experiments and documentation of results, you take ownership in data analysis and interpretation.
You are capable of independently planning, designing, and running experiments in parallel with limited supervision, you are able to work in a flexible way while adapting to tight timelines On top of this, you are enthusiastic and goal-oriented, you communicate openly, you enjoy working in a team and can adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
