Your new role
We’re exclusively recruiting for a new Senior Scientist Analytical Development for an innovative biotechnological company in Amsterdam. As a Sr. Scientist you own and supervise multiple full life cycle development projects of new analytical assays including development, qualification and transfer of these techniques. The Sr. Scientist will be a bridge between different departments by sharing scientific knowledge of the project, process and product. Your responsibilities include executing experimental campaigns, aligning timelines of multiple projects, and supporting others to deliver high quality analytical methods. This also includes scientific review and giving scientific input in assay design, development, qualification, troubleshooting and transfer as well as product characterisation and early reference studies.
You will be working on product-specific assays to be used for release testing, stability testing, and extended characterisation and therefore you are also involved in technical writing of CMC related documents. Last but not least, you also train technicians, QC analysts or other players as part of the technology transfer and qualification activities.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful as Senior Scientist Analytical Development, you hold a PhD degree biochemistry, molecular biology, biotechnology with at least 4-6 years working experience within Analytical Development in the pharmaceutical industry. It is important that you have demonstrated hands-on experience with broad range of techniques such as molecular biology techniques (qPCR, DNA electrophoresis), biochemical analysis (western blot, ELISA, protein electrophoresis) and proteomics (HPLC, UPLC, DLS, MALDI-TOF). You have an excellent understanding of assay development and qualification according to ICH guidelines and have excellent technical writing skills with CMC related reports. Prior experience with viral vaccines or gene therapy is highly appreciated. As a person, you have a proactive attitude. You are flexible and professional. In addition, you are highly analytical and detail oriented. You plan and organize in advance and you enjoy working in a team. You also have good communication skills and proven experience of managing people.
