You will manage and to grow a designated portfolio of customer relationships for the inbound business, marketing the full range of the banks products and services in order to achieve an acceptable level of profit, risk and return in line with agreed business plans. The function is part of Corporate Banking Division and it manages the non-Japanese inbound clients as part of GCBD (Global Corporate Banking). The Vice President reports to the Managing Director, Head of Global Corporate Banking Division in each country (GCBD), The Netherlands with strong collaboration with the Head of Subsidiary Banking for EMEA. You will report into the Managing Director, Head of GCBD. You role will have a strong relationship management and a strong stakeholder management component to the role.
You will contribute to developing and putting in place annual business plan. You will manage and develop day to day client interactions, identifying and understanding clients’ needs and promote relevant products and services. You will develop and acquire new Global inbound corporate relationships in line with the banks credit policy. You will conduct Relationship Management and effective marketing of designated customers to include strong and effective partnerships with Credit, Product Offices, GRMs, and Subsidiary Banking team in London. Youi will maintain a pipeline reflecting the stages of new business opportunities, take a lead role in business development activities including meeting new clients and leading pitches and proposals for deals and achieve individual and collective Financial and Other Performance Targets in consultation with the Managing Director, Head of Corporate Banking The Netherlands, manage and monitor business plans for the portfolio in order to meet customer profitability requirements and business objectives. You will efficiently and pro-actively manage the 4 key risk areas: Credit, Operational, Markets and Regulatory/Conduct Risks on behalf of yourself and the inbound team and escalate in an appropriate manner any identified potential breach. As part of First Line of Defence, you will promote a strong risk and compliance culture within your team, with no material breaches of risk and compliance frameworks. Ensure your regulatory obligations are discharged in a suitable manner for the perimeter from a Front office perspective. You will monitor and exercise good judgement relating to all credit risk decisions by maintaining open dialogue with internal and external stakeholders. Be accountable for all credit risk in your portfolio jointly with the Sector Banker when applicable. You will proactively integrate and maintain a strong 'first line controls' culture in your team via: Proactive and timely input into GCBDD RAFs, taking joint ownership for zero KYC outstanding reviews with the KYC team, proactively reaching out and helping to fill information gaps where needed. You will collaborate with internal functions to ensure appropriate engagement and support in the discharging of these risks and the development and finalisation of complex deal opportunities. You will consult with Legal, Product partners and other stakeholders at EHQ and take appropriate commercial decision and/or Functional Business to scope, review, negotiate and implement legal and other documentation ensuring compliance with the various sanctioning processes, notably credit sanction, Bank and Regulatory policy in order to minimise risk. You will negotiate terms and conditions of credit facilities and services after consulting will all relevant stake holders and prepare the proposal in order to seek approval by relevant credit sanctioning bodies. You will provide advice and guidance to (junior) team members including motivation, support and the sharing of best practice as appropriate.
My client is looking for an experienced banker on a VP or Director level with a broad experience within an international corporate banking environment. You have knowledge of securitization, equity, DCM and trade finance. You have a university degree and are fluent in English. You have substantial relevant experience with a deep sales/relationship management experience within European markets. You have knowledge of the (intra-)departmental work flows, processes and matrix organisations, of the Business Environment in which the company operates & all related products offered by front office and of the applicable internal and external legislation. You have a profound understanding of European markets area and related products and regulations. You have the ability to promote a strong risk and compliance culture both within the bank and local regulatory through exhibiting behaviours, competencies and capabilities. You have strong stakeholder management and leadership skills. You have strong interpersonal and networking skills. You have strong relationship building and communication skills. You are self-starting, reliable assertive and enthusiastic.
Our client offers a competitive salary package. The salary for this position will be based on a 38.75 hours working week. You will have a 13th month, a bonus of 20% discretionary, training budget, pension plan and 29 holidays.
